ADS Toulouse was privileged to host:

The objectives of the meeting was to introduce the R&T department, the organisation, how they operate, the strategy portfolio and their missions.

Axel also raised the challenges they meet and from the R&T perspective what they think Airbus will need to stay competitive.

ADS Toulouse has organised a very successful mini-supplier conference with Liebherr in the presence of:

  • Guillaume Bajolet, Head of Commodities Procurement
  • Thomas Melzer, Director Strategy Support and Business Standarts

Mathieu Tournier gave us a general presentation about Liebherr and its activities and another focused on the Procurement. This was followed by a presentation of each of the company members in attendance.

The group was also offered to visit their facilities and everybody joined the finger buffet lunch at the ADS Toulouse office, an occasion of exchange between members.

ADS Toulouse has organised a very successful mini-supplier conference with Aircelle in the presence of:

Antoine Chetelat gave us a general presentation about Aircelle and its activities, followed by a presentation of each of the 12 company members in attendance.

The group was offered to visit their facilities and a lunch was organised around the different buyers activities.

The ADS Toulouse Bureau was privileged to host before his official lunch with Tom Enders

The informal discussion with the Toulouse team gave the Ambassador an update of the activities of the Toulouse Bureau followed by an exchange on the main messages to be forwarded to Airbus from the UK Aerospace Industry.

AEROMART CONVENTION – 3RD & 4TH DECEMBER 2014

International Business Convention for the Aerospace Industry formed around face-to-face pre-arranged appointments.15 000 B2B meetings – 45 countries – 2 500 participants – 1 300 companies

This was already the 10th time the world’s prime movers in the aerospace arena-manufacturers, engine suppliers, subcontractors and service providers-have attended Aeromart Toulouse which has now become a fixture in the industry calendar. As at previous editions, all of the global international players were in attendance, making the business convention the biggest B2B event of its kind. Alongside the sector’s leading lights – Airbus, Alenia Aermacchi, ATR, Avic, Boeing, Bombardier, Dassault Aviation, Embraer, Safran etc.-no fewer than 1300 companies from 45 countries have come together for pre-scheduled meetings to talk, find information, take part in workshops and attend conferences. Two new countries, South Korea and Vietnam, were present this year for the first time.

WORKING BREAKFAST WITH ATR – 25TH NOVEMBER 2014

The Bureau was pleased to welcome a return visit from ATR with:

  • David Brigante, new SVP Procurement effective on the 1st of January 2015

The main objective of the presentation was to announce the new organisation reporting to the recently appointed CEO Patrick de Castelbajac and to present the Procurement strategy designed to meet the increased demand for the ATR aircraft especially the ATR 72.

David Brigante has been seconded from Alenia Aeromachi and appointed SVP Procurement reporting directly to the CEO.  Philippe Cazanave will leave his current post end December.

Our 15th Annual Event was held at the «Palais Consulaire» Toulouse city centre on the 09th October 2014.

The theme of the event was “Electric Aircraft – Green Aircraft” and we were very pleased to welcome Michael Ward Director UK Trade and Investment France, Charles Champion Airbus, EVP Engineering and Alain Berger Labinal Power Systems, VP Sales, Marketing and services as our Guests of Honour.

The informal discussion centred around the Procurment strategy and the different routes to be approved as an ACJ supplier as well as the specifity of ACJ relationship with suppliers in comparaison with Airbus.

The briefing was very much appreciated by both parties and very informative as its was the first time the bureau hosted a representative from ACJ.

Our 14th Annual Event was held at the «Domaine du Beausoleil» Merville on the 10th October 2013.

The theme of the event was “Globalisation and Innovation” and we were very pleased to welcome Rt. Hon David Jones MP Secretary of State for Wales, Dr Klaus Richter Airbus, EVP Procurement and Sir Peter Ricketts HM Ambassador France as our Guests of Honour.

On this occasion Rt. Hon David Jones MP delivered good news for innovation and announced that as part of the Aerospace Growth Partnership (AGP) they will be running a new open competition National Aerospace Technology Exploitation Programme (NATEP) to help small and medium sized companies to innovate their technology.

for a question and answer session on the 23rd March 2012.

AIRBUS FLIGHT TEST VISIT ON 25TH JANUARY 2012

On Wednesday, 25th January in the morning ADS Toulouse had organised a visit at

  • AIRBUS “Flight Test Centre”

where members were met by senior personnel from this department including the Chief Test Pilot Civil and members of his team.

The visit commenced with a presentation by Hélène Cerbeleaud, EV Head of Strategy, Flight and Integration Tests which outlined the involvement of Tier one suppliers from the initial development phase of a new aircraft programme. This is a new way of working and will apply to the A350 project.

This was followed by a visit to the Iron Bird of the A380 & A400M coupled with a demonstration of the cockpit interface to each rig.

The next stage of the visit was to see the Telemetry centre which enables test aircraft to be monitored and tracked in real time.

The morning concluded with a visit to the A380 MSN 1 a/c which has been fitted with a Trent XWB (A350) engine, making its maiden flight within 14 days.

The Toulouse Bureau would like to express its thanks to Harry Nelson for organising such a wonderful visit.

This year’s ADS Toulouse annual event was held at the magnificient Orangerie. In addition to being blessed with wonderful weather we were honoured to receive Mark Prisk MP Minister of State for Business and Innovation as our major guest of honour. He was accompanied by senior members of BIS and UKTI. The Airbus guest of honour was Tom Williams, EVP Programmes Airbus. In addition senior executives from major British and French companies were present. The theme of the evening was the environment which is particularly close to Airbus as they are constantly investigating ways of reducing pollution and saving fuel. Tom Williams made a special mention of the NEO A/C and its huge success since its launch.

on the 29th September 2011 from 08.30 to 14.00 hours

A visit to Thales Alenia Space was organized to coincide with the Annual Event and involved UK Space company members in addition to some of our Toulouse members. This visit has been a success for the UK companies as well as for Thales Alenia Space with a very good feedback from all participants.

There will be a follow up with to ensure and to maximise the potential in the relationships between our UK supply chain and Thales Alenia Space, particularly in matching the capabilities of our members to the service requirements that Thales has throughout their current and future projects.

ADS TOULOUSE ANNUAL EVENT ON 23RD SEPTEMBER 2010

ADS TOULOUSE celebrated its first annual event under the new logo. This was held at the magnificent “Chateau de Thégra” on the 23rd of September and was attended by key personalities from the local aerospace industry. The joint guest of honour Klaus Richter Airbus EVP Procurement addressed the guests and expressed his opinion for the future of the aircraft industry which is borne out by the recent high profile sales to Cathay pacific and Lufthansa. In addition Airbus has taken the decision to increase the single aisle and long range production rates to meet the increased requirements. Our members were delighted to have had the opportunity to network with the non ADS guests who numbered more than 100. This was a significant turn out despite the industrial problems of the day and proves once again the support for ADS. In conclusion the main theme of the evening was to support the children’s charity “Les Petits Princes” and this was achieved with generous donations from all concerned.

First Infoday organized in cooperation between Aerospace Valley and ADS Toulouse bureau with the support of the British Consulate in Bordeaux. In the morning there were presentations on both French and UK Civil Aerospace and Defence market sectors followed by SMEs B2B meetings between French and UK companies.

September 2009This event held on 24th September at the prodigious “Orangerie de Rochemontes” near Toulouse was very well attended and honoured to host several VIP’s including Tom Enders CEO Airbus, Ian Lucas MP Minister for Business and Sir Peter Westmacott HM Ambassador to France. Tom Enders congratulated ADS on its transition from SBAC as well as outlining the important role played by the Toulouse Bureau. The evening concluded with a magnificent firework display which was a fitting finale to an unforgettable event enjoyed by all present.
