ADS Toulouse Newsletter No.10 – September 2022

Dear All

As we head into autumn, the focus moves on to ‘robust’, ‘just in time’, ‘just in case’ and ‘logic of performance’ processes as our sector tackles the supply chain crisis. Recruitment is another major challenge as our sector aims to attract young talent, increase diversity and retain skills. Our ADS Toulouse UK company members are fully committed to the challenges ahead and you will find below some of their news.

Last week we opened bookings for our ADS Toulouse Annual Event which will be held on the 13th of October 2022. We are pleased to be able to host this special event once again and you should have received our official invitation by now. You will also find details in our upcoming events section below where we also highlight our wider events programme including our first bilateral seminar in collaboration with Aerospace Valley. We are especially thrilled to be hosting a UK Pavilion for the Aeromart 2022 in December!

We look forward to welcoming you once again at our “Annual Event”.

In the meantime, Bonne rentrée à tous,

ADS Toulouse Newsletter No.9 – May 2022

Dear all

Maintaining resilience when dealing with one crisis after another is a significant challenge our industry is facing as we approach mid-2022. “We are at the end of economic globalization as we have experienced it for the past thirty years”, said Larry Fink, the chairman of BlackRock investment fund.

As we record a promising start to the year for 2022, we remain committed to supporting our UK company members as they face possible constraints and supply chain issues if the war in Ukraine persists as well as to perpetrate their ability to meet demand and contribute to the long-term success of the industry post-Covid-19 pandemic. Please read more below in the news section.

Amongst the exciting programme of events that we have planned throughout the year as described in the content below we are now delighted and excited to confirm that our ADS Toulouse Annual Event will be held on the 13th of October.

Stay tuned!

Look forward to seeing you all again in the meantime at Farnborough in July!

ADS Toulouse newsletter #8 FEBRUARY 2022

Dear all

As we begin 2022, we can sense the optimism in the air including from IATA’s Director General Willie Walsh who recently predicted a healthier industry with the resumption of the global air traffic expected to last all year.

We believe 2022 is the year of three 2s: the recovery of Aerospace, “2 “the transformation of Aerospace, “2” a sustainable Aerospace.

At ADS Toulouse we are supporting our UK members in their efforts to be considered as trusted partners and fully part of the industrial transformation and global recovery. In this long-term endeavour companies and players must work together internationally to succeed.

We are very happy to confirm some success stories amongst them that you will read below in the news dedicated section.

This year we have an exciting programme of events which has already started in January and amongst our priorities will be helicopters, space, security, and the emerging sectors of UAM, eVTOL etc. without neglecting civil aerospace.

Last but not least, we are thrilled to announce that our ADS Toulouse Annual Event is back this year with a new revised edition after the summer. Stay tuned!

Bonne route pour 2022 and look forward to seeing you all!

ADS Toulouse – NEWSLETTER 7 – OCTOBER 2021

Dear all,

We are now approaching the end of 2021 and the last quarter of the year has been very busy for our members community as you will see in our members news section below.

It has also been very active at ADS Toulouse with a full programme of visits, conferences and working breakfasts with the major aerospace players including Airbus and Safran. If our role is to facilitate access for our members to the French aerospace OEMs and Supply Chain, ADS Toulouse should also be an easily accessible bridge for our French contacts to reach and understand the UK Supply Chain from SMEs to larger members.

We are thrilled to announce that helicopters and space sectors will be part of our priorities for next year. We will also be expanding our members’ interests beyond France and into a broader Europe. These endeavours are still in their infancy and further news will come in the next edition.

Competitiveness, operational excellence, sustainability and long-term view will be part of the focus for our company members to prepare the ramp-up and the additional demand from the market to integrate the whole ecosystem.

Sustainable, green, and light aircraft will also draw our attention next year.

In a word, 2022 promises to be a busy but exciting year of major and challenging projects and ADS Toulouse will continue to support its members and help them access the opportunities they bring.

In the meantime, I wish you all a successful end of the year, and look forward to catching up again for our first edition in 2022.

ADS Toulouse Newsletter 6 – JULY 2021

Dear all,

The summer has arrived and although COVID restrictions continue as we head into the second half of this year 2021, there is also a level of optimism driven by opportunities in evolution, leadership changes and industrial landscape reshaping.

Our industry is facing strategic and environmental challenges both in the short term and longer term and at ADS Toulouse we are keen and honoured to support our company members in their efforts to actively participate in these future missions and maintain their industrial capabilities and performance.

For example, one recent event we had with Airbus A220 and ATR highlighted the role of regional aircraft in tomorrow’s aviation recovery. Regional aircraft will play a major part in this process and is ideal for the introduction of new technologies.

We therefore finish this semester stronger with the opportunities that lay ahead for the aerospace sector and welcome more positive news of future production rates.

We are looking forward to the return of face-to-face interactions this autumn with our participation in the Additive Manufacturing Summit in Toulouse in September and our “Working Breakfast” in the office.

ADS Toulouse is following the stream of evolution if not revolution expected and necessary in these moving times and we will keep you posted on some exciting projects hopefully in our next edition in October.

In the meantime, have a nice summer break and

Looking forward to seeing you all again after the holidays,

Sophie Morel

ADS Toulouse Newsletter 5 – APRIL 2021

Dear all,

As we continue through the second quarter of 2021, I would like to introduce this newsletter with positive words highlighting our industry priorities today. The objective is to reconnect the world and aviation must perform and play its part in the energy transition. This ambition is very challenging, but ups and downs make us progress faster and the shortest distance is not always the fastest. It is worth overcoming.

As we look to the future, it has never been more crucial to adapt, be agile, meet our commitments and be aligned with the digital transformation. At ADS Toulouse, the continuous support of our members and the growing number of companies joining us is a demonstration of their involvement in France and in Europe more globally.

The first quarter has been very active for us and we will continue our mission in supporting our company member’s resilience and energy to participate to the industry recovery and success. Further collaboration and partnership will be required to meet this challenge.

Let’s keep connected and together.

Looking forward to seeing you all again very soon,

Sophie Morel

ADS Toulouse Newsletter No 4 – January 2021

Dear All

Just a year ago, we were entering into a crisis that has significantly and deeply changed our world in 2020.

The uncertainty of Brexit and of the Covid19 pandemic has challenged us all more than ever and I would like to take the opportunity of the New Year to congratulate our ADS Toulouse members for their resilience and adaptation and to thank them for the renewal of their confidence for 2021. Thanks to their collaboration we will continue our mission and will remain committed to support their business development and grow the UK aerospace expertise in France.

I would like to also address my recognition and great thanks to all our contacts and partners in France, the aerospace community, for continuing to work together with us and preserve the Franco-British business relationship.

In this first edition of our Newsletter in 2021, let me wish you all the best success for a year which will be undoubtedly intense.

Let’s keep our energy and be audacious.

ADS Toulouse Newsletter No 3 – Oct 2020

Dear All

In this uncertain time of pandemic and Brexit, we all need confidence and positivity to build resilience.

Our team keeps on delivering a targeted and direct support to our members and on advocating for multiple initiatives to help them in securing recovery; export and business development abroad are part of it.

ADS Toulouse is working together with ADS HQ on the longer-term challenges and opportunities of sustainable aviation and how the new ‘green’ aviation targets can be achieved.

Communication for a better collaboration between the leading companies in our sectors this autumn will be crucial for delivering a prosperous future.

We want to engage collectively in order to maintain this dynamic, stay inspired and motivated to help our company members achieve their objectives in France.

Let’s keep this vibe and please stay safe as we head towards 2021.

ADS Toulouse Newsletter No2 – July 2020

Dear All,

Our first Newsletter was published when the Covid-19 pandemic started. While we are still struggling with this crisis, we are now also entering in an uncertain economic time. The commercial aircraft business activity has dropped by close to 40% in recent months and the production rates have been adapted accordingly.

At ADS Toulouse we will strengthen our efforts to support our members’ community adjusting to their overwhelming challenges and above all in communicating on their competitivity, innovation, robustness and agility. We hope that this will contribute to an improved collaboration between the UK and French supply chain and participate to a future long-term and sustainable relationship for aerospace.

In the current circumstances, our ADS Toulouse Event will not be held in October as every year, but we will inform you of our upcoming program in the next edition of our newsletter.

We are looking forward to pursuing our dialogue after the summer. In the meantime, have a nice break and please stay tuned,
